Enum ButtonRole
pub enum ButtonRole {
Primary,
Secondary,
Destructive,
Plain,
Key,
}Expand description
What a button does. The role is a button’s whole appearance: an app never picks a fill, an ink, an edge or a radius for one.
| Role | Use | Face |
|---|---|---|
Primary | the one main action of a view | inverted: primary ink as the fill, the content surface as the label |
Secondary | every other action | a raised control with a derived edge and primary ink |
Destructive | deletes, removes or revokes something | the secondary face lettered in danger ink; filled only inside the confirmation step |
Plain | inline text actions, toolbar glyphs, close buttons | nothing at rest, a lift of its ground under the pointer; a labelled one’s ink sits on its layout edge and its lift and hit area reach outward |
Key | a keypad or keyboard key (a calculator digit, an on-screen key, a one-letter toggle) | a faint lift of its ground at rest, its label in Title |
Every role has the control radius (radii.control): buttons are not
pills.
