Struct Edit
pub struct Edit {
pub at: usize,
pub removed: usize,
pub inserted: String,
}Expand description
A splice to apply to the buffer, in byte offsets over the pre-edit text:
at..at+removed is replaced by inserted. Edit::apply applies it to a
String mirror; Edit::splice_automerge to a char-addressed Automerge
Text.

§impl Edit
impl Edit
pub fn caret_after(&self) -> usize
pub fn caret_after(&self) -> usize
New byte caret position after this edit is applied.
pub fn char_splice(&self, before: &str) -> Option<CharSplice>
pub fn char_splice(&self, before: &str) -> Option<CharSplice>
The same splice in char offsets over before (the pre-edit text).
None when the byte range does not land on before’s char
boundaries — the edit was computed against different text.
pub fn apply(&self, text: &mut String) -> bool
pub fn apply(&self, text: &mut String) -> bool
Apply the splice to text. Returns false (leaving text untouched)
when the range does not land on char boundaries.
pub fn splice_automerge<T>(
&self,
doc: &mut T,
obj: &ExId,
before: &str,
) -> Option<CharSplice>where
T: Transactable,
pub fn splice_automerge<T>(
&self,
doc: &mut T,
obj: &ExId,
before: &str,
) -> Option<CharSplice>where
T: Transactable,
Splice the edit into the Automerge Text obj, whose current content
is before. Returns the char-space splice so a caller can stamp marks
over the inserted run, or None when the edit does not fit before.
